We think it is important to all our patients receive an annual eye exam. Your vision can change over a 12 month period. A regular check-up enables us to uncover any sight-threatening ocular conditions that can develop, unnoticed to you.
We do additional testing with contact lens patients to measure the curvature of the eye to ensure that we prescribe the lens that optimizes the fit, comfort and vision. We also do a follow-up evaluation after you have worn the lenses for a given period to make sure there are no complications.
Contact Lens are regulated by the FDA. Contact lens prescriptions expire for the same reasons that medical prescriptions expire. Any time you are using a medical product, you should follow up with your doctor at least once per year to identify possible complications. The FDA considers contact lenses medical devices.Â
No, you do not need to be a Costco member to have an eye exam at TLC Optometry. We are independent doctors of optometry who chose to locate our practice inside Costco, We make no income or commission from the selling of glasses or contact lens, only from providing exams and treating ocular disease.Â
